Hump was created by Trent, founder of Making Magic Animals, a Brisbane-based dog training and behaviour business. After years of working with dog owners and their pups, Trent recognized something: the dog community is one of the most genuine, passionate, and supportive communities out there. Dogs bring people together. They create connections that matter.
Hump exists to celebrate that connection. Whether you're looking for a playmate for your pup or your own match, Hump is your community. We believe in transparency, integrity, and putting the wellbeing of dogs first — always.

We're not just an app — we're a movement toward more intentional, honest connections in the dog owner community. Hump exists because dogs matter, and the people who love them deserve a space where integrity isn't compromised.
Our core principle is simple: prioritize the dog's wellbeing above all else. Every playdate, every friendship, every match made through Hump should enrich both the humans and the animals involved. We operate with transparency about our practices, our values, and our purpose. We're here to build something meaningful — not just swipe and move on.
1. How do I create my profile?
Start by uploading a photo of yourself and your dog, along with basic information. Fill in your dog's breed, age, and personality traits. Be honest and thorough — it helps make better matches.
2. How does the matching algorithm work?
Hump matches you two ways, and you can turn on either or both: Doggy Dating finds your dog a playmate based on breed, age, and connection-type preferences; Human Connection finds you a match based on age, gender, and your dog's personality. Set your preferences anytime in Settings.
3. Is Hump safe for my dog's information?
Yes. We take security seriously. Your dog's profile info is only used for matching, and any private behavioral notes you add are never shown to other users. We never share your information with third parties without your consent. See Security & Privacy below for more.
4. Can I find a breeding match through Hump?
Not yet — Hump doesn't currently have dedicated breeding tools like health-certificate sharing or pedigree info. Doggy Dating can still help you find dogs to socialize with, and if breeding comes up in conversation, we'd always recommend verifying health records and credentials directly with the other owner.
5. How do I report someone or block a user?
Every profile and chat has a flag button — use it to block or report someone instantly, matched or not. We review every report by hand. You can also disable your account anytime from Profile to stop appearing to others while you sort things out.
Your privacy matters to us. Here's what you need to know:
Data Encryption: All personal and dog information is encrypted using industry-standard security protocols.
No Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell, trade, or share your data with external companies.
Associated Businesses: Hump is operated by Making Magic Animals. Information you provide — including your dog's breed, personality, behaviors, interests, and the parks you visit — may be used within our own associated businesses: Park Dogs (our dog park directory) and Making Magic Animals Dog Training. This is not a sale or share with an external company; it's shared use within businesses we operate. We use it to improve matching, to inform the Park Dogs directory, and for dog training insights.
Profile Control: You control what information is visible on your profile. You can adjust privacy settings at any time.
Data Deletion: You can request complete data deletion at any time. We will remove your information within 30 days.
Secure Messaging: All in-app communications are private and encrypted.
Compliance: Hump complies with Australian privacy laws and international data protection standards.
Meeting other dog owners in person is a big part of what makes Hump special — here's how to do it safely.
Meet in Public First: For your first playdate or date, choose a public place like a dog park, café, or busy trail. Bringing your dog along to a playdate helps everyone feel comfortable.
Tell a Friend: Let someone know where you're going, who you're meeting, and roughly when you'll be back.
Video Chat First: A quick video call before you meet is a good way to confirm someone is who their profile says they are.
Trust Your Instincts: If something feels off, it's okay to cancel or leave. You don't owe anyone an explanation.
Block and Report: Every profile and chat has a flag button — use it anytime someone makes you uncomfortable, matched or not. We review every report by hand.
In an Emergency: Contact local emergency services first. Then let us know at info@makingmagicanimals.com so we can take action on the account.
Welcome to Hump, a community-driven platform connecting dog owners for authentic relationships and meaningful playdates. By using this app, you agree to our terms.
User Responsibility: You are responsible for the accuracy of your profile information. You represent that you are at least 18 years old and have legal authority to enter into these terms.
Content Guidelines: Users agree not to post false, misleading, defamatory, or inappropriate content. All dog information must be accurate and honest.
Animal Welfare: Hump is committed to responsible dog ownership. Users arranging playdates or meetups through the app agree to prioritize the health, safety, and welfare of all dogs involved.
Privacy and Data: Your personal and dog information is treated with confidentiality. We do not sell data to third parties. Hump is operated by Making Magic Animals, and data you provide may be used across our associated businesses — Park Dogs and Making Magic Animals Dog Training — for matching, directory information, and training insights. See Security & Privacy above for details.
Platform Role: Hump is a platform that connects dog owners for playdates and socialisation. We do not organise, supervise, or guarantee any meetup. You are solely responsible for verifying the identity of anyone you meet through the app, meeting in a public place, and supervising your own dog at all times.
No Liability for Meetups: Hump is not a vet, insurer, or chaperone. Dog fights, injuries, and vet bills are the sole responsibility of the dog owners involved. We accept no liability for harm arising from any in-person meeting arranged through the app.
Code of Conduct: Harassment, discrimination, and dishonesty will result in account suspension or removal.
Reporting and Enforcement: You must report fake profiles, harassment, or abuse using the in-app report tools or by emailing us. We reserve the right to suspend or ban accounts at our discretion.
Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, Hump's total liability to you is capped at the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months.
Trust and safety features built into Hump:
Verification: Human profiles can verify their identity with a photo or ID check, shown as a badge on their profile.
Meet in Public: After every match, we suggest a nearby public park for your first playdate, with a reminder to meet during daylight hours.
Block, Report, Unmatch: Every profile and chat has tools to block, report, or unmatch instantly — no explanation needed.
Age Gate: Hump is for adults only. Every account must confirm they are 18 or older.
No Dating Language: Hump uses matching and socialisation language throughout — you won't find "dating" or "love" pushed on you anywhere in the app.
